ESPN to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Special ONE NACION

ESPN will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the annual television special of the bilingual award-winning show, One Nación. The one-hour special will air on Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. ET, in a simulcast on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. ESPN DEPORTES Radio will also broadcast an edited version of the show on Saturday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m.

The program will center on roots, focused around heritage and nationality, hometown, community service, and fans.

The fourth consecutive edition of the special will be produced between ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA studios in Times Square and ESPN's studios in Bristol, Conn. ESPN SPORTSCENTER anchors Max Bretos and Toni Collins return to co-host, alongside ESPN Deportes' Freddy Lomeli who will be driving the social media conversations with sports fans during the telecast.

The entertaining live special will run in the same format as in previous years; showcasing features and panel discussions. The show will include interviews with marquis sports figures and newsmakers in English y español.

The show's features will focus on football, fútbol, baseball, boxing and the Olympics:

David "Big Papi" Ortiz' making a difference in Boston and his native Dominican Republic
The return of Miami Dolphins' Kiko Alonso to Cali, Colombia
New England Revolution's defender Andrew Farrell's Peruvian roots
Gymnast Laurie Hernandez's Olympic medal wins
Latino Boxing at Madison Square Garden
Special guests include: ESPN's baseball analyst Eduardo Perez, ABC News correspondent John Quiñones, ESPN Deportes' Sebastian Martínez-Christensen, and the NFL LIVE commentators from ESPN's studios in Mexico City. ESPN2's Nación ESPN hosts will also contribute to the show.

In addition, a special collaboration with Youtube stars, Los Pichy Boys and the Mexican Gueys will give fans a good laugh with four video clips produced by the dynamic social media influencers. Other surprises include a musical performance by Disney TV, Film star and Hollywood Records' Jorge Blanco, and a behind-the-scenes look, with Toni Collins, at the making of Latina Disney princess, Elena of Avalor, from Disney studios in Burbank, CA.
