TMZ reports that long-time DANCING WITH THE STARS pro Mark Ballas has been taken to the hospital following a car crash which occured in Los Angeles yesterday.

According to the report, the 28-year-old dancer was behind the wheel and was in the process of making a turn when a speeding car slammed into the right rear side of his vehicle. The site shares that Ballas was complaining of back pain and whiplash, as he was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was prescribed medication.

Ballas just completed Season 18 of the popular ABC dance competition in which he made it to the finals with his celebrity partner, 'Full House' star Candace Cameron Bure. Bure confirmed the accident on Twitter, adding "So glad he's OK -- talked to him briefly tonight."

Last month, the dancer was injured while practicing a difficult lift during a rehearsal session. A spokesperson for ABC told US Magazine at the time that Ballas' shoulder popped out during a routine, and he had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.
