Deadline writes that Cuba Gooding Jr is working on a TV comedy "set in an old-school boxing gym". No plans have been announced for Gooding Jr to star in the series, which is still scouting a writer.

The series "is set in a gym in a newly gentrified neighborhood where hard-core boxers, weekend warriors and soccer moms gather to practice."

Jason Winer's Small Dog Picture Company is executive producing alongside Gooding for 20th Century FOX TV.

Gooding Jr's other upcoming projects include the films Carry Me Home, The Book of Negroes, Selma and Broken Doll. He recently appeared on the big screen in Machete Kills and Lee Daniels' The Butler. The actor made his Broadway debut last year in The Trip to Bountiful.
