Conan O'Brien has come under fire for his recent jab at the new iteration of Ms. Marvel.

Marvel announced earlier last week that it would be developing a new comic series featuring Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenager from New Jersey who receives super powers and becomes Ms. Marvel.

O'Brien tweeted on Friday afternoon: "Marvel Comics is introducing a new Muslim Female superhero. She has so many more special powers than her husband's other wives."

Fans and Twitter users lashed out at the comedian and late night host, for his quick judgement on the character. O'Brien deleted the tweet later this weeked.

He has hosted Conan since 2010 and has also hosted such events as The Emmy Awards and Christmas in Washington. O'Brien has been the subject of a documentary, Conan O'Brien Can't Stop (2011), and has also hosted a 32-city live comedy tour. He last hosted the White House Correspondent's dinner in 1995.

Known for his spontaneous hosting style, which has been characterized as "awkward, self-deprecating humor," O'Brien's late-night programs combine the "lewd and wacky with more elegant, narrative-driven short films (remotes).
