Cirque du Soleil, currently represented on Broadway with Paramour, will also bring two new touring shows to the New York metro area this September, highlighting two different sides of the internationally-beloved troupe's magic and artistry.

First up, TORUK - The First Flight, inspired by James Cameron's blockbuster AVATAR, the highest-grossing film of all-time, will have its New York premiere at Barclays Center in Brooklyn September 7 through 11, followed by September 15 through 18 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Through a riveting fusion of cutting-edge visuals, puppetry and stagecraft buoyed by a soaring cinematic score, TORUK - The First Flight transports you to the world of Pandora in a visually stunning live setting. Experience a storytelling odyssey through a new world of imagination, discovery, and possibility.

Later in the month, Cirque brings its highly-acclaimed Big Top show KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities to Randall's Island, premiering Thursday, September 29 for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 30. Since its world premiere in Montreal in 2014, KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities has received unanimous rave reviews from critics across North America.

TORUK - The First Flight bears the distinct signature of directors and multimedia innovators Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon. It is a living ode to the Na'vi's symbiotic coexistence with nature and their belief in the basic interconnectedness of all living things. Narrated by a "Na'vi Storyteller" and populated by unforgettable characters, TORUK - The First Flight is a mythical tale set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film AVATAR, and before any humans ever set foot on Pandora.

When a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, Ralu and Entu, two Omatikaya boys on the brink of adulthood, fearlessly decide to take matters into their own hands. Upon learning that Toruk can help them save the Tree of Souls, they set out, together with their newfound friend Tsyal, on a quest high up in the Floating Mountains to find the mighty red and orange predator that rules the Pandoran sky. Prophecy is fulfilled when a pure soul rises among the clans to ride Toruk for the first time and save the Na'vi from a terrible fate.

TORUK - The First Flight will be presented at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on September 7-11, 2016 and at Prudential Center in Newark on September 15-18, 2016. Tickets can be purchased at www.cirquedusoleil.com/toruk. Follow the show on Facebook at www.facebook.com/torukthefirstflight, and on Twitter and Instagram with #TORUK.

Written and directed by Michel Laprise, KURIOS - Cabinet of Curiosities is a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible. In this realm set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, reality is quite relative indeed as our perception of it is utterly transformed. The name of the show refers to the humble and strange characters that inhabit the Seeker's Cabinet of Curiosities.

In an alternate yet familiar past, in a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imagination, a Seeker discovers that in order to glimpse the marvels that lie just below the surface, we must first learn to close our eyes.

In his larger-than-life curio cabinet, the Seeker is convinced that there exists a hidden, invisible world - a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await. A collection of otherworldly characters suddenly steps into his makeshift mechanical world. When the outlandish, benevolent characters turn his world upside down with a touch of poetry and humor in an attempt to ignite the Seeker's imagination, his curios jump to life one by one before his very eyes.
