CBS THIS MORNING Posts Double-Digit Year-to-Year Percentage Gains in Key Demo

CBS THIS MORNING posted double-digit year-to-year percentage gains in the key news demographics of adults 25-54 (+25%, 1.0/07 from 0.8/07) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - and viewers (+18%, 3.84m from 3.26m), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Jan. 22.

CBS THIS MORNING added +580,000 viewers compared to the same week last year. The CBS broadcast closed the viewership gap with ABC by 720,000 viewers and with NBC by 430,000 viewers. Additionally, CBS THIS MORNING scored 4.02m viewers on Thursday.

CBS THIS MORNING also posted double-digit year-to-year percentage gains in women 25-54 (+10%, 1.1/08 from 1.0/07) and women 18-49 (+33%, 0.8/07 from 0.6/05) compared to last year.

Season-to-date, CBS THIS MORNING posted the only gains among the network morning news broadcasts, up +9% in viewers (3.54m from 3.26m) and +13% in adults 25-54 (0.9/07 from 0.8/07) compared to last season. CBS THIS MORNING also posted double-digit season-to-date percentage gains in women 25-54 (+11%, 1.0/07 from 0.9/06) and women 18-49 (+17%, 0.7/06 from 0.6/05) compared to last season.

On Jan. 23, CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY posted 2.55m viewers with a 0.7/04 in adults 25-54. CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY posted the best delivery for a CBS Saturday news broadcast in viewers since Sept. 23, 2006 and in adults 25-54 since Feb. 21, 2015. Compared to the same week day year, CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY was up +13% in viewers (from 2.25m) and +17% in adults 25-54 (from 0.6/04).

Editor's Note: Ratings for the week ending Jan. 22 represent a four-day average (Tuesday-Friday) average due to the Martin LUTHER King Jr. holiday on Monday.
