CBS THIS MORNING posted CBS's best morning news audience delivery for a fourth quarter in at least 23 years, and was the only network morning news program to post year-to-year increases, according to Nielsen most current ratings for fourth quarter 2015. The broadcast gave CBS its best competitive position in the time period with NBC in 23 years and with ABC in 17 years.
During the fourth quarter of 2015, CBS THIS MORNING delivered 3.48 million viewers (+8%, from 3.23m); 0.9/07 with adults 25-54 (+13%, from 0.8/07); 1.0/07 with women 25-54 (+11%, from 0.9/06); and 0.7/06 with women 18-49 (+17%, from 0.6/05) compared to fourth quarter 2014. CBS THIS MORNING closed the viewership gap with NBC by more than half a million (510,000) and by 850,000 viewers with ABC from fourth quarter 2014. CBS THIS MORNING closed out the quarter as the only morning news broadcast to post year-to-year gains among viewers (+6%, 3.36m from 3.16m ), adults 25-54 (+13%, 0.9/08 from 0.8/06), women 25-54 (+25%, 1.0/08 from 0.8/06), women 18-49 (+20%, 0.6/06 from 0.5/05) and households (+4%, 2.4/09 from 2.3/09), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Dec. 25, 2015. CBS THIS MORNING gained +200,000 viewers compared to the same week last year and closed the viewership gap with NBC by 680,000 viewers, and cut the deficit with ABC by 250,000 viewers.
