The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is the only network evening news broadcast to post gains in the key adults 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Feb. 5.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +7% (1.6/06 from 1.5/06) in adults 25-54 - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - while its competitors posted double-digit percentage declines (-10%, both NBC and ABC) compared to the same week last year.

Season-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY gained the most viewers (+4%, 7.59m from 7.33m) among the network evening news broadcasts and maintained its rating in adults 25-54 (1.5/06) compared to last season.

Last week's broadcasts featured extensive coverage of the Iowa caucus; Dr. Jon LaPook's reporting from Brazil on the Zika virus; Michelle Miller's coverage of security preparations ahead of SUPER BOWL 50; and Holly Williams' look at a new offensive launched by the Syrian regime around the city of Aleppo.

Steve Capus is the Executive Producer of the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY and Executive Editor of CBS News.
