CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY Adds +580,000 Viewers

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY added +580,000 viewers and posted the largest percentage gain in adults 25-54 among the network evening news broadcasts for the week ending Friday, July 10, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +8% in adults 25-54 (1.3/06 from 1.2/05) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - compared to the same week last year. Additionally, the CBS broadcast is up +10% in viewers (6.68m from 6.10m) compared to the same week last year.

Television year-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +3% in viewers (7.12m from 6.90m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.4/06) compared to last year.

On last week's broadcasts, Holly Williams and Anthony Mason reported on Greece's economic turmoil; Omar Villafranca was in South Carolina as the Confederate flag was removed from the state capitol; Elizabeth Palmer provided a rare look from inside war-torn Syria; Margaret Brennan covered the nuclear talks with Iran; Adriana Diaz reported on a SPIKE in murders in Milwaukee; and Dean Reynolds had extensive coverage of the cancer DOCTOR WHO knowingly over-treated patients.
