Billy Bush has been facing his share of controversy over the last week after a 2005 video was leaked featuring him and presidential candidate Donald Trump making lewd comments about women.

Despite immediately apologizing for his comments made 11 years ago, the newsman was quickly suspended indefinitely from his day job on NBC's TODAY.

Today, an insider tells Page Six of the New York Post that the 44-year-old may look to revive his career by appearing on the next season of ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS. "It comes in March," the source tells the Post. "That's far enough away. Everybody goes on to do the apology tour. It's ironic there is Ryan Lochte on, who he started this controversy with when he started with 'Today.'"

In addition to saving his broadcast career, the appearance on the dance competition may also open up opportunities for Bush to seek employment at another network. "It's also a way for ABC to establish a relationship with him," explains the source.

As Page Six previously reported, Bush has been frantically searching for a "high-power fixer" to save his career and image. A source noted, "His likability factor has always been off anyway as a lot of viewers find him annoying."

A request by the Post for comment from "Dancing with the Stars" was not immediately returned.
