Beck Media Acquires Insignia Public Relations
Beck Media & Marketing, the firm founded by Todd Beck and specializing in the convergence of traditional entertainment and digital media has acquired Insignia Public Relations, the respected corporate advisory and communications firm founded by Eddie Michaels. Michaels joins the firm’s Santa Monica office effective immediately. All of Insignia’s clients are expected to follow Michaels to the agency.
Long-tenured Beck Media & Marketing executive Steve Spignese initiated the relationship by introducing Michaels and Beck earlier this year. Michaels and Spignese worked together early in their respective careers. Spignese will continue in his leadership role at the agency.

Eddie Michaels founded Eddie Michaels & Associates, later named Insignia Public Relations, in 1992. Current clients include Illumination Entertainment, Bento Box Entertainment, YRF Entertainment, directors Jonathan Mostow and Andy Tennant, and actors Noah Wyle and Lou Diamond Phillips, among others. He started his career working with his mentor, Joe Sutton at Freeman & Sutton.
Todd Beck founded his agency in 2000 after spending his early career working at agency, network, and web 1.0 companies. With offices in Santa Monica and New York City, the firm serves the PR and marketing needs of television networks, studios, producers, and programs; non-profits with ties to entertainment, and digital media firms providing content and services that are shaping the next phase of the entertainment industry. With the addition of Insignia’s clients, the firm will also represent independent feature film production companies and financiers who are funding a wide range of content as well as a select group of directors, producers and actors.
