Am I mistaken or did Nick Miller just drop some serious knowledge on Jessica Day? On the latest episode, the gang heads to the Pacific Northwest to attend Jess' dad wedding. But there are so many other things going on, the wedding is barely noticeable.

After last week when we found out Jess and Ryan would be heading into a long-distance relationship, we knew he wasn't long for this show, but that was a quick exit. Jess is frantically waiting for him to arrive in Oregon for her Dad's wedding and has planned out a quick tour of her hometown. When he finally decides not to come, the gang jumps in and asks to go on her tour anyway to distract her. Jess shows them around and Cece runs into her high school crush. She turns into a blithering idiot when she's around him so Schmidt offers to assist against her wishes.

Jess' mom is devastated that Ryan isn't coming and decides to take her first "trip" (literally) and drop acid on the day of Jess' Dad's wedding. Too bad she has the rings. Jess has to stall the wedding by singing a VERY long version of Ave Maria as well as doing impressions of all the Muppets until Coach and Nick return with the rings.

In her childhood bedroom, Jess confesses to Nick about her lifelong crush on MY SO CALLED LIFE'S Jordan Catalano and Nick advises that maybe Ryan isn't the best guy if he didn't show up, because the guy for her is the one that does show up. Annoyed at first, Jess realizes after seeing her Dad happily in love that she needs to end things with Ryan.

And she's not the only one admitting harsh truths. When Cece's crush finally does approach her about getting together, she is forced to admit what Winston (and we) knew all along; she is in love with Schmidt.

Well, Cece finally came clean, but I don't know what their future holds as Schmidt seems to be completely smitten with his Councilwoman girlfriend. An interesting turn for Cece to be on the other end of unrequited love. And as we saw tonight, apparently this isn't her first time. As for Jess, I feel like this isn't the end of Jyan. I just feel as though his exit was a little too quick and convenient. Could we see a grand gesture toward the end of the season tempting her to move to London? Maybe forcing her once and for all to choose between Ryan and Nick? And speaking of Nick, he is going above and beyond friendship to make her happy. I have been where Jess was where everybody knows your relationship is over except you and once you realize it you just hate them all and want to be alone. But even then, Nick sticks by her and gives her the tough love. Is it weird that Nick is inadvertently turning into the man that he swore he was not which led to their breakup?

Lines I Love:

  • Nick - Is he one of them Portland Hippies? Because I hate Portland hippies?

  • Jess - It's my best man suit. I'm my Dad's best man. He wanted a boy. My middle name is Christopher.

  • Winston - I'm gonna say something about that man that I've only said about Ryan Gosling... HOT damn!

  • Jess - And there's the dance studio where I had my first kiss with the cutest/only boy in my jazz troupe. Then he came out of the closet, super gay. Then we kissed some more. Then he went to Oberlin.

  • Nick - Do you know what the problem with Jordan Catalano is? It's that he's fake. The only thing that matters is that the guy is there for you when you need him. Otherwise, you're dating a wall.

And a huge shoutout to the acapella group, The Co-Pays who are pharmacists by day for their amazing rendition of The Beastie Boys "Sabotage." And Nick? While I appreciate your tough love on Jess... JORDAN CATALANO WILL ALWAYS BE REAL!
