Ground-breaking AMC series Breaking Bad took home the 2013 Emmy for OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES.

It was nominated alongside DOWNTON ABBEY, GAME OF THRONES, HOMELAND, HOUSE OF CARDS, MAD MEN.

Series creator Vince Gilligan accepted the award. Read his acceptance speech below.

VINCE GILLIGAN: Holy cap. Man, I ?? I did not see this coming. I thought this was going to be ?? I thought was going to be "House of Cards." Or it could have been "Homeland," or it could have been "Mad Men," or it could have been "Game of Thrones," or "Downton Abbey." It could have been any of them, and even some others that were not nominated in this golden age of television that we feel so proud to be a part of. Thank you so much to Sony: Steve Mosko, Zack Van Amburg, Jodi Ehrlich. Thank you to AMC: Charlie Collier, Josh Sapan, Ed Carroll, Joel Stillerman. Thank you to these guys.
