NBC Deportes presents David "Severo" Carmona and Ricardo "Meserito" Rodríguez in a 10-round fight for the WBO's Latin Superfly title this Friday, October 16 at 11:35PM/10:35C, live from Mexico City's Blackberry Auditorium. Veteran sportscaster René Giraldo will call the fight, which will be broadcast simultaneously on NBCDeportes.com digital platforms, with commentary by Edgar López.

Both fighters are WBO royalty: David "Severo" Carmona (19-2-5, 11KO), who will take the ring for the second time in 2015 as the reigning Latin Superflyweight champion, is in second place in the organization's rankings. He won the title in his first fight this year back in March, defeating Daniel "Alacrán" Lozano D-10 in another headliner event broadcast on "Boxeo Telemundo Ford."

"Severo" Carmona fought twice in 2014, beating another Mexican, Martín "Pini" Casillas, D-10 in October following another D-10 win over Ricardo "Meserito" Rodríguez for the WBO's Superfly Youth World Championship in July.

"Meserito" is eager to avenge that loss and take the Superfly title from Carmona. Ranked ninth in the organization's standings, Rodríguez has had a busy 2015, beating Jonathan "Pitbull" Vidal in a seventh-round technical KNOCKOUT and sidelining Daniel "Alacrán" Lozano thanks to a DM-10 decision. Both fights aired on "Boxeo Telemundo Ford."

Two more bouts will round out the exciting fall lineup on "Boxeo Telemundo Ford." On October 23 at 11:35PM/10:35C, Daniel "Alacrán" Lozano will take on David "el Diablo" Quijano in a 10-round fight for the WBO's Interim Latin Superfly title at Tampa's A la Carte Event Pavilion. The opponents and venue for the second and final fight of the season have yet to be confirmed.
