Andrea Martin to Host 2015 CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS

Andrea Martin will host the Academy's 2015 CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS, broadcast live on CBS prime time on Sunday March 1, 2015, it was announced today by Helga Stephenson, CEO, Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.

"Andrea Martin is the perfect host as we move into the gorgeous Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts," says Stephenson.

Stage and screen star Martin previously hosted the Academy's former Gemini Awards on CBS in 1986 and 1987 to rave reviews.

"I'm thrilled to be hosting the CSA's said Ms. Martin, "especially since the film and television awards have converged on one special night. It Gives Candians everywhere, more time to figure out what's happening on ORPHAN BLACK."

Martin recently released her new book "Lady Parts", and received a Tony Award for her role in Broadway's Pippin. She will soon star in an upcoming sequel to the hit film 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding.'

The two-time Tony Award winner was most recently seen in the NBC comedy series "Working the Engels." She appeared on the New York stage most recently in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Act One, winning an Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance. Her other theatre credits include Exit the King, Young Frankenstein, Oklahoma, Candide and My Favorite Year, for which she won her first Tony Award. Her film and TV credits include The Producers, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, All Over the Guy, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Breaking Upwards, and "SCTV," for which she earned two Emmy Awards. She will next be seen on screen in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.
