All 10 Seasons of FRIENDS Coming to Netflix This January

Netflix announced today that all 10 seasons, 236 episodes and 83 hours of the iconic sitcom FRIENDS will be available exclusively on Netflix (both the US and Canadian services) starting January 1, 2015. This marks the first time the iconic series will be available on a streaming subscription service.

Whether you're watching for the first time or have been a fan since the beginning, you can experience the complete series however and whenever you want. Who wouldn't love to spend New Year's Day with Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey?

This marks the first time the iconic series will be available on a streaming subscription service. Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, "Friends" ran on NBC from September 22, 1994 to May 6, 2004, and starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer as six twenty-something Manhattan-ites who share in many dating and career misadventures. The show also served as something of a launching pad for Paul Rudd, who played Phoebe's boyfriend and eventual husband Mike Hannigan throughout seasons 9 and 10.

Friends was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, and originally aired on NBC from September 22, 1994, to May 6, 2004. It lasted ten seasons and is now in syndication. It revolves around a circle of friends living in Manhattan.

Filming for the series took place at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. The series finale, airing on May 6, 2004, was watched by around 52.5 million American viewers, making it the fourth most watched series finale in television history and the most watched episode of the decade.

Friends received positive reviews throughout its run, becoming one of the most popular sitcoms of all time. The series was nominated for 62Primetime Emmy Awards, winning the Outstanding Comedy Series award in 2002 for its eighth season. The show ranked no. 21 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time[ and no. 7 on Empire Magazine's The 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time. In 1997, the episode "The One with the Prom Video" was ranked no. 100 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All-Time. In 2013, Friends ranked no. 24 on the Writers Guild of America's 101 Best Written TV Series of All Time and no. 28 on TV Guide's 60 Best TV Series of All Time.

The show led the Nielsen ratings with its eighth season and finished among the top five every year from 1995 to 2004
