Alanis Morissette to Perform at 2015 AMAs

dick clark productions and ABC announced today that iconic singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette will perform a special rendition of her 1995 smash hit "You Outta Know" from her award-winning album, Jagged Little Pill, which is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. Joined by Demi Lovato, the two will rock the stage at the "2015 American Music Awards," the world's biggest fan-voted award show. They join previously announced host and performer Jennifer Lopez, as well as 5 Seconds of Summer, Justin Bieber, Leon Bridges, Coldplay, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction, Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, WALK THE MOON, The Weeknd, duets from Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, Luke Bryan featuring Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town and the legendary Star Wars score to be performed by pop super group Pentatonix and a full symphony orchestra.

Alanis Morrissette is a first-time American Music Award performer. She is a four-time nominee in the categories of Favorite Pop/Rock Female (1996 and 1997), Favorite Pop/Rock New Artist (1996) and Favorite Pop/Rock Album (1997). She took home the AMA trophies in 1997 for both of her nominations.

Stars slated to present throughout the evening include Paula Abdul, Kelsea Ballerini, Ashley Benson, MISS AMERICA 2016 Betty Cantrell, Ciara, Terry Crews, Hannah Davis, DNCE, Florida Georgia Line, Tyrese Gibson, Ellie Goulding, Gigi Hadid, Fifth Harmony, Julianne Hough, Kylie Jenner, Wiz Khalifa, Taylor Lautner, Little Big Town, Tove Lo, Jenny McCarthy, Shawn Mendes, Chloe Grace Moretz, Kevin O'Leary, Norman Reedus, Jeremy Renner, Nick Robinson, Alicia Silverstone, Jeremy Sisto, Hailee Steinfeld, Wilmer Valderrama, Donnie Wahlberg, and Zendaya. The "2015 American Music Awards" will broadcast live Sunday, November 22 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Since 1995, Alanis Morissette has been one of the most influential singer-songwriter-musicians in contemporary music. Her deeply expressive music and performances have earned vast critical praise, 14 Canadian Juno Awards, 7 Grammy® Awards (with an additional 14 nominations), a Golden Globe nomination and sales of over 60 million albums worldwide. Morissette's 1995 debut, "JAGGED LITTLE PILL," was followed by such eclectic and acclaimed albums as "SUPPOSED FORMER INFATUATION JUNKIE" (1998), "MTV UNPLUGGED" (1999), "UNDER RUG SWEPT" (2002), "SO-CALLED CHAOS" (2004), "JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC" (2005), her greatest hits album, "THE COLLECTION" (2005), "FLAVORS OF ENTANGLEMENT"(2008), HAVOC AND BRIGHT LIGHTS (2012), as well as musical contributions to theatrical releases, some of which include "The Chronicles of Narnia," "Prince of Persia," and "City of Angels." Alanis has acted on the big and small screen with roles in "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Dogma," "Sex and the City," "Weeds" and "Up All Night," and has appeared as a celebrity guest mentor on the 2nd season of "The Voice." In 2015, Alanis was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Outside of entertainment, she is an avid supporter of female empowerment, as well as spiritual, psychological and physical wellness. She has contributed her writing to a variety of outlets and forums, and leads workshops, special speaking and keynote speaking engagements worldwide. Alanis has also donated her time to a number of causes that help raise awareness and funding on a number of issues including Equality Now which benefits international female and human rights, Music for Relief, UN Global Tolerance for which she was honored for her contributions for promoting tolerance internationally through the arts, "Every Mother Counts" CD for which she contributed her song "Magical Child" to help prevent needless maternal deaths, and P.S Arts which has worked tirelessly to provide access to the arts through in-school programs to thousands of children in some of the most under-served neighborhoods in California. Alanis has also been outspoken on the issue of home child birth, its benefits and challenges for mothers across the world. Taylor Swift leads the "2015 American Music Award" nominations with six nominations. Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd tie with five nominations each, while Sam Hunt, Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor and WALK THE MOON earn three nominations each. Additionally, Jason Aldean, Chris Brown, Luke Bryan, Drake, Fetty Wap, Florida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Charlie Puth, Rihanna, Mark Ronson and Wiz Khalifa each receive two nominations.

As always at the American Music Awards, artists will be honored in the genres of Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM, Soundtrack, New Artist of the Year Presented by Kohl's, Song of The Year, Collaboration of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Artist of the Year.
