Pop music icon DEBBIE GIBSON stars in the new Lifetime original movie THE MUSIC IN ME, premiering April 12th at 7pm EST. Gibson plays Jessica, a young woman who gave up her dreams of being a professional singer in order to take care of her elderly parents and maintain her family's hardware business. Gibson's new song "Promises" will also be featured in the film.

The singer-actress recently spoke with Sirius XM about the movie and shared her thoughts on current pop stars of today, including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna.

"...(Rihanna) can do no wrong. And her voice?! She can go and star on Broadway tomorrow. ..technically she's incredible but she's got this street appeal... she so elegantly lives her life."
