Opera San José Brings Fantastic Performances To The Community This Summer

Opera San José is pleased to announce it is again taking opera into the community through different venues this summer starting with a performance in Redwood City on July 9.

Members of the Opera San José resident company will present a concert highlighting some of the greatest arias and ensembles in opera repertoire, from Mozart to Puccini, and give viewers a preview of the company's 2017-18 season. The Classical Series in Redwood City is for the classical, instrumental, and opera-lover, or everyone who appreciates great musical talent. In addition, the company will present Opera in Bramhall Park in Willow Glen on July 16 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. The concert will be staged at Willow Street Frank Bramhall Park with principal artists highlighting arias and ensembles, and providing the audience with a look at the company's 2017-18 new resident company singing highlights from the coming season.

To show its appreciation to donors, Opera San José will host its 2017-18 Singers' Showcase on July 23 at 2 p.m. The Singers' Showcase is an event for Showcase Circle donors who are invited to attend the first performance by the 2017 - 18 company, followed by a reception for donors and artists. The Showcase Circle consists of donors who have donated or pledged $1,000 or more to Opera San José over the past year.

Those who are not yet Showcase Circle donors can make a donation or a pledge by June 30, 2017. Donations can be broken into monthly installments and are accepted via phone (408.437.4450) or online at www.operasj.org.

Finally, on July 24, members from the resident company will perform at the Sunnyvale Library. Following the performance Mr. Hancock will give a talk on the 2017-18 season. The event is scheduled from 7 - 8 p.m.
