WFUV, New York (90.7 FM/wfuv.org), a fixture for many years at the Newport Folk Festival, returns again this year to that iconic music gathering in Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI. The station will present a live broadcast of the set by the prolific rock singer-songwriter Ryan Adams which will wrap up the first day of the festival, Friday, July 25, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. EDT. The festival continues on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27.

In partnership with NPR Music, WMVY, and Folk Alley, throughout the weekend WFUV will also archive performances recorded on the Fort Stage at wfuv.org. These sets, hosted by WFUV Program Director Rita Houston, will include artists such as Conor Oberst, Dawes, Deer Tick, Nickel Creek, Aoife O'Donovan, and Shovels & Rope.

Renowned for its commitment to high-quality video production, WFUV will work with NPR Music to produce a number of performance videos, which will be posted shortly after the festival concludes. As always, Team FUV will be posting photos and reports from Newport throughout the weekend on Facebook, Twitter, and wfuv.org.

"Newport still has special status on the festival circuit," said Houston. "Given the amazing lineup, it's not surprising that it sold out instantly again this year. We're delighted that we can share the festival with our listeners in New York and around the world."
