One of the late comedian Chris Farley's final projects was to be lend his voice to the role of an ornery ogre in DreamWorks new animated film titled SHREK.

Before his death in December of 1997, Farley had completed the majority of his dialogue for the film, however after his passing, the studio decided to replace his voice with his "Saturday Night Live" co-star Mike Meyers.

Today, the film's development producer, John Garbett, has shared a story reel from Shrek's early production days featuring Eddie Murphy as Donkey and Farley as everyone's favorite ogre. Check it out below!

2001's SHREK was directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, and featured the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and John Lithgow. It was loosely based on William Steig's 1990 fairy tale picture book Shrek!,
