BRIC will welcome Swedish psychedelic rock outfit Dungen to BRIC House on March 16 for two performances.

At this show, they'll perform their dazzling original score to the 1926 film The Adventures of Prince Achmed. Weaving music into the storytelling seamlessly, Dungen grabs at jazz, folk, and classical influences, taking you on journey through what is understood to be the oldest surviving animated film.

While the quartet usually features sung lyrics, the Prince Achmed score, entitled Häxan (translation: "The Witch") was released in November 2016 and is Dungen's first instrumental album. Moody, evocative, stormy, and brimming with life, Häxan provides both a tacit summation of the Dungen journey up to today, and gives the beloved group a chance to stretch out like never before. Here, the psychedelic rock is more bombastic, the softer passages more exquisite, the tension in their musical interplay more dramatic, their intentions remarkably robust.

The beloved Stockholm based band opened for Tame Impala at the 2016 BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival and are sure to provide another rich sonic landscape with these upcoming BRIC House performances.

Tickets for this event are on-sale now via BRICArtsMedia.org.
