Steelism Release Surprise 'Superhero Themes EP' for Halloween

To celebrate the Halloween season, Steelism, the duo of guitarist Jeremy Frankenstein (Fetzer) & pedal steel player Spooky (Spencer) Cullum, have released a surprise EP titled Superhero Themes. The EP features a cover of the Batman Theme and two original compositions "The Dynamic Duo" and "Dark Night."

"Pow! New EP: Halloween is coming and this year we have a new Superhero Themes EP for your groovy costume parties," said Jeremy Fetzer. "Recorded at Battle Tapes, we did a version of Neil Hefti's 'Batman Theme' as well as two original compositions. Special thanks To Lee Shook for putting this project together."

The EP was produced by Steelism and recorded at Battle Tapes studio in Nashville, TN, where they tracked their sophomore album ism. The recorded feature longtime collaborators Jon Radford on drums and Jon Estes on bass, as well as Robbie Crowell (formerly of Deer Tick) on piano, saxophone & Moog synthesizer.

On October 23, Steelism will continue their nationwide tour supporting Carl Broemel of My Morning Jacket and serving as his backing band. Find a full list of tour dates below.

Last week, Steelism released an official video for "Re-Member" from their sophomore album ism. Rolling Stone said, "The vast open terrain provides the perfect setting to visually capture the song's exploratory, psych-twang soundscapes, as guitarist Jeremy Fetzer and pedal steel wiz Spencer Cullum Jr. weave together emotive passages with dramatic sections of tension and release."
