Additionally Slipknot, lead singer Corey Taylor's other band, was also nominated in two categories - "Best Live Band" and "Most Dedicated Fans."
Taylor recently performed at Sundance as part of the Sound City Players, Dave Grohl's band of musicians assembled to play the original music they created in his directorial debut documentary, Sound City. Sound City recounts the history of the Van Nuys, CA recording studio where Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Neil Young and of course Nirvana and Slipknot recorded so many of their classic works. The film also explores the human element of playing and recording music, as Grohl invites Sound City veterans to create new, original songs using the hallowed Neve 8028 recording console that Grohl purchased from the decommissioned studio in 2011.
