Detroit, MI -- Grammy-winning R&B superstar R. Kelly has announced he will perform at the new West Riverfront Park, located along the Detroit riverfront at Jefferson and 10th Street, tonight, May 29 at 8 p.m. with special guest Chrisette Michele.

R. Kelly has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, has won 3 Grammy Awards, 6 American Music Awards, 6 Billboard Awards, 8 Soul Train Awards and 3 NAACP Image Awards. He created a smooth, professional mixture of hip-hop beats, soul man crooning, and funk, with songs like "Sex Me," "Bump n' Grind," "Your Body's Callin'," and "Feelin' on Yo Booty." Kelly truly consolidated his crossover success with the 1996 single "I Believe I Can Fly." The ambitious two-disc R. followed in 1998, and it became Kelly's biggest-selling album yet, going platinum seven times over. His latest album, Black Panties, harkens back to a style that has undoubtedly embedded him into the fabric of contemporary R&B music over the past two decades.
