Natalie Prass Shares New Video for THE FIRE via NPR, Spotify Singles Session Out Today

NPR is sharing a powerful new video for Natalie Prass' track "The Fire" today from her sophomore album The Future And The Past. Directed by Alex Germanotta, the video is "a statement on power dynamics between people in relationships and in society," according to Prass. Shot in the remains of Presidents Park outside Richmond, Virginia - a now defunct open-air museum where visitors could walk among 43 presidential busts, each standing over 18 feet tall - the crumbling monument visually encapsulates the themes of Prass' new album; her heartbreak over the 2016 presidential election and her newly born awareness that she could use her music to talk about social justice.

NPR called it "a reflective - but not heavy-handed - meditation on what happened. 'The Fire' captures a feeling of uncertainty, drawing strength in its soaring chorus."

Prass' Spotify Singles Session was released today as well, and includes a new version of her lead single "Short Court Style" and a cover of Dionne Warwick's "Deja Vu".

Prass will continue her breakout year by kicking off a headlining North America tour next week with support from Stella Donnelly, taking her through Los Angeles, Chicago and Nashville among numerous other stops. Following that run, she will head to Europe for a month-long jaunt. Early 2019 will see the musician supporting Kacey Musgraves on her "Oh, What A World" tour (all tour dates below).

The Future and the Past, out now on ATO Records, saw the rising star performing on Conan and CBS Saturday, as well as rave reviews from NPR, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, GQ, NY Mag and more. A deeply personal and political album, it is a powerful feminist statement that taps into women's struggles for autonomy and equality, and resonates profoundly in this climate. Though the album was born out of a sense of deep disappointment, doubt and fear after the 2016 election, the result is a record that insists on faith and optimism, succeeding in assuring the listener that they can make a difference.
