NBC has announced the following updates to its primetime schedule for the period of Sunday August 30, 2015 to Wednesday September 9, 2015:

"THE CARMICHAEL SHOW"

(X) "PILOT"

08/30/2015 (07:00PM - 07:30PM) (Sunday) : JERROD MOVES IN WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND, MAXINE. TIFFANY HADDISH GUEST STARS-When Jerrod (Jerrod Carmichael) decides to move in with his girlfriend, Maxine (Amber Stevens West), he is incredibly hesitant to tell his opinionated parents, Cynthia (Loretta Devine) and Joe (David Alan Grier). While Maxine feels they both need to be open and honest, Jerrod and his brother, Bobby (Lil Rel Howery) are well aware that this is a recipe for disaster...

GUEST STARS- When Maxine (Amber Stevens West) doesn't say "amen" after grace, it ignites a passionate discussion about religion and spirituality within the Carmichael household, resulting in a disagreement between Jerrod and Maxine. In seeking guidance, Jerrod uncovers a family secret that forces his parents to face the differences they overcame at the start of their own relationship. Loretta Devine, David Alan Grier and Lil Rel Howery also star.

09/09/2015 (09:30PM - 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : MAXINE FINDS A GUN IN THE APARTMENT THAT BELONGS TO JERROD. TIFFANY HADDISH GUEST STARS- Maxine's (Amber Stevens West) dismay over Jerrod's (Jerrod Carmichael) gun sparks a debate throughout the family regarding gun control and gender power dynamics within a relationship. While Cynthia (Loretta Devine), Maxine, and Bobby (Lil Rel Howery) bond over not wanting a gun in the house, Jerrod's attempt to prove his point goes terribly wrong. David Alan Grier also stars.
