Mexican Superstar Gerardo Ortiz Kicks Off 2016 with Concert Film

Telemundo and NBC UNIVERSO today announced two special events featuring Regional Mexican superstar Gerardo Ortíz to kick off the New Year. Telemundo will air the television broadcast premiere of Gerardo's concert film "Como un Sueño" (Like a Dream) on Saturday, January 2 at 9pm/8c followed by the exclusive premiere of "Gerardo Ortíz: Sin Censura" a four part, hour long docu-series on NBC UNIVERSO to begin airing Sunday, Jan. 3 at 10pm/9c and will conclude January 24.

Gerardo Ortiz's fans will get VIP access to the multiple award-winning singer/songwriter that continues to captivate audiences around the world with his edgy corridos and ballads, and witness how his dedication and passion for music drove to stardom. To view a sneak peek, click here.

"Como un Sueño" features Gerardo Ortíz's powerful live performances shot in the U.S. and México interweaving raw home video and candid interviews. Fans will get will get to see their idol on stage singing his hits Quién se anima, El Cholo, Eres una niña, Dámaso and discover the birth of 'El Hijo de Sinaloa'. Gerardo will go back in time sharing memorable childhood moments, his humble beginnings and the adversity of overcoming the tragic death of his cousin Ramiro.

The four episode series "Gerardo Ortíz: Sin Censura" chronicles the artist's life off stage and gives fans an even more intimate look at his life, his crew, family and his story in his own words. Sin Censura will transport fans to Badiraguato, Sinaloa the town where Gerardo started his musical career at the young age of eight years old. Fans will also get to accompany Gerardo and his cousins on a razor car adventure, visit his grandparents' tombstones, the recording studio, and access the intimacy of his tour bus and a behind-the-scenes look of the making of "Como un Sueño".
