Brooklyn's M Center for the Arts announces the creation of Reverend Mary & the M Band.

Bay Ridge Brooklyn -- Rapidly becoming the epicenter of art in Brooklyn's Bay Ridge area, The M Center for the Arts and Genesis Repertory inaugurate a new music group. Singer Mary Elizabeth Micari joins forces with musicians, Cricket Cohen, A.G. Liebowitz, and Bev Closs to create Reverend M & the M Band.

This new cover band puts new spins on classics and features seasoned performers: Micari - recording artist, stage performer, and Broadway professional; Cricket - professional rock musician with credits including opening for the Drifters; and longtime keyboard professional, Beverly Closs bring decades of experience to every tune. Adding a modern cutting-edge note is guitarist A.G. Liebowitz, who doubles as an arts photographer with photos published in the New York Times, New York Magazine, the Daily News, and Time Out New York.

Currently in rehearsal, Rev M & the M Band have plans for local gigs in Brooklyn before aiming at competitions and NYC clubs. They are also looking for producers for a first album.
