Diamonds was produced by JOHNNYSWIM's Abner Ramirez and recorded in Nashville, where the couple originally met and began writing together. Of the new music Abner notes, "It's been a wild ride writing and recording this album. It's a slice of our lives from the last couple years-the love and the loss, the highs and the lows. In addition, VH1 became very early supporters upon first hearing the music and were quick to select JOHNNYSWIM as their first-ever "You Oughta Know +" artist, hailing the twosome as "...tantalizing." The duo received long-term video support for their song "Heart Beats" and participated in VH1's Creative Music Integration initiative, where their music is placed into a selection of VH1 programs.
