VH1 has announced that it has selected rock and soul phenomenon Gary Clark Jr. as its official "You Oughta Know" Artist for the month of November. Beginning today, the channel has put the video for the singer, songwriter, and guitarist's new single"Ain't Messin 'Round" into Gung Ho Rotation, the highest rotation on the channel, given to only one artist at a time. Watch the video here.

Launched in 2004, VH1's "You Oughta Know" franchise introduces promising new artists on the rise to VH1's base of music lovers. Many "You Oughta Know" artists have gone on to win industry awards and accolades including "Best New Artist" Grammy Awards and nominations. This highly acclaimed franchise has helped break artists such as Adele, Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, Colbie Caillat, Corinne Bailey Rae, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, Foster The People, James Blunt, Mumford & Sons, Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor, The Fray and many, many others.

"Ain't Messin 'Round" continues to gain traction at radio and video outlets. Rolling Stone said of the video: "Gary Clark Jr.'s bold mix of blues, soul and funk demands fun footwork and in his new video, the Austin singer-guitarist makes it clear that he "Ain't Messin 'Round." Strutting in a brown fedora and matching corduroy blazer, the smoothly styled Clark Jr. makes a good time his priority, lighting up the room with colorful fractal imagery and a searing-hot guitar solo. 'Give it up now/ Play it cool,' he croons. Easy for him to say."

Clark is riding high with the No. 6 debut of his Warner Bros. Records debut Blak And Blu. Every date on his upcoming domestic tour has sold out, including three shows at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City and three shows at the Troubadour in Los Angeles within an hour of tickets going on sale. Blak and Blu has received across-the-board critical acclaim since its release on October 22nd, while"Ain't Messin 'Round," is gaining fast traction. The New York Times calls Clark "a guitarist of deep magnetism and tremendous feel," while Spin declares "There truly is nobody else like him around."

The Austin native will perform on Good Morning America and The Late Show With David Letterman on November 21st. An appearance on Austin City Limits is set to tape on November 30thwith an early 2013 airdate to be determined.
