As BroadwayWorld previously reported, former GLEE star Mark Salling was arrested in December of 2015 for possessing child pornography. This week, Salling was officially indicted for both receiving and possessing child pornography.

US attorney for the central district of California Eileen DECKER stated, "Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed."

According to his lawyers, Salling has agreed to surrender to the federal authorities.

This is not the first time the actor has found himself in legal trouble. He was sued by a woman in 2013 who claimed he committed sexual battery on her by forcing sex without a condom. The actor denied the charges and the case was later settled out of court.

In addition to GLEE, Salling appeared in 1996's Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering with Naomi Watts, as well as in 2006's The Graveyard . He first appeared as a cast regular on GLEE in 2008. In 2013 he was demoted to a recurring guest star on the show.
