Deadline reports that the GAME OF THRONES Season 6 finale titled "The Winds of Winter", delivered 8.89 million viewers, marking an all-time high for the hit HBO drama series. The 70-minute episode, which aired on Sunday, June 26. was written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

The ratings mark a 16% increase over the "Battle of the Bastards" episode of June 19th and a 10% jump from the Season 5 finale titled 'Mother's Mercy," which aired June 14, 2015.
