FIRST LISTEN: Check Out Live Tracks from AFTER MIDNIGHT, Featuring Fantasia

Former American Idol contestant and star of Broadway's The Color Purple Fantasia Barrino recently brought audiences to their feet with her performance in the new Broadway musical After Midnight, now playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The singer will return to the show beginning May 13 and remain through June 8th.

The show has not yet recorded a cast album, but BroadwayWorld has stumbled open the official live recording of the new musical- which has recently been falling into the hands of Tony nominators and voters. Below, check out a first listen to six hot tracks from the production; 'Zaz Zuh Zaz', 'Opening/Daybreak Express,' 'I Can't Give You Anything But Love,' 'Women Be Wise,' 'Diga Diga Doo,' and 'Cotton Club Stomp.'

The evocative After Midnight takes the sexy, smoky glamour of the original Jazz Age and catapult it into a whole new era of heart-pounding, mind-blowing entertainment for modern Broadway audiences. Refracted through a contemporary lens, After Midnight will celebrate Duke Ellington's years at the Cotton Club using his original arrangements and performed by a world-class big band of 17 musicians hand-picked by living jazz legend, Wynton Marsalis. The timeless tunes set against a narrative ofLangston Hughes poetry will provide an authentic backdrop for an array of cutting-edge performances by 25 sensational vocalists and dancers, including special guest stars, whose interpretations will shatter everything you think you know about music, nightlife and Broadway.
