Meric Long of The Dodos recently announced a new solo project entitled FAN, and tomorrow he will release a 7-inch single via Polyvinyl. Following the release of the A-Side "Fire," today Fan shares the B-Side "Disappear." The track can be heard now exclusively via Billboard alongside Long's first-ever interview about his new endeavor. The 7-inch single will be out tomorrow - pre-order the 7-inch HERE, and see below for single art.

"This song was created during a very sleep deprived month, in which things felt very unfixed, in between one phase of life and another," explains Long. "The drum sample was taken from an old song that was slowed down to half speed, so it already had this feeling of stretching time, everything else I recorded was just trying to exaggerate that."

Conceived upon hearing an irreproducible pattern made from the sound of a broken fan in a restaurant bathroom, FAN's music is pulled together from recordings Long made in Galicia, Spain, using synths left for him after his father's passing. Watch this space for more: http://www.fantheband.com/
