Recording star Clay Aiken and Broadway actress Montego Glover are among the stars scheduled to perform on May 8 at Family Equality Council's Night at the Pier celebration in New York City.

This year, Night at the Pier will feature Broadway-themed performances in honor of the 30th anniversary of Family Equality Council – the national organization that connects, supports and represents the one million parents in the U.S. who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT).

Aiken, currently featured on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice, made a lasting name for himself on Broadway with his memorable performance in Spamalot. After making her Broadway debut in The Color Purple, Glover received rave reviews on Broadway in the role of Felicia Farrell in the Tony Award Winning Best Musical, Memphis. For this role, Ms. Glover received the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Lead Actress in a Musical as well as a Drama League nomination and Tony Nomination for Lead Actress in a Musical.

Family Equality Council Executive Director said the organization honored Aiken in 2009 and was thrilled to welcome him back to the New York event in honor of the organization's milestone celebration.

"Clay is not only a dynamic performer, but a wonderful dad and a passionate advocate for our families," said Chrisler. "We couldn't be more thrilled that he and Montego Glover are helping us shine a spotlight on our three decades of work to ensure that our families are recognized, respected and protected."

Honorees will include acclaimed producer Daryl Roth for her long-standing support of the LGBT community and her brave and tireless efforts in bringing the 2011 Tony Award winning production of The Normal Heart to Broadway audiences last spring. Scott Davenport, Chief Operating Officer of Freedom to Marry, will be honored for his enduring support of Family Equality Council and fierce advocacy work on behalf of LGBT parents and their children. A co-founder of Family Week, Scott has been a gay parent and activist for over 20 years. Scott was granted the first co-parent adoption in the District of Columbia, and was instrumental in forming Rainbow Families of DC.
