Billy Joel Recovering From Hip-Replacement Surgery

Sources revealed today that piano legend, Billy Joel, is currently recovering from a double hip-replacement surgery that he underwent last week in New York.
 
Dr. Calin S. Moucha, the Associate Chief of Joint Replacement at the Department of Orthopaedics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, is available for commentary and an interview to discuss the Mr. Joel's treatment and recovery.  The Joint Replacement Center in The Peter and Leni May Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is a leading center for joint replacement in the country.

Dr. Moucha has been interviewed in Crain's New York, among other national outlets. He has also written several extensive publications on hip surgery.
 
About Dr. Calin S. Moucha.
Dr. Calin S. Moucha is an experienced Board Certified, Fellowship trained hip & knee replacement specialist.  He is the Associate Chief of Joint Replacement Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He joined Mount Sinai after almost 6 years as the Chief of the Adult Joint Replacement & Reconstruction Division in the Department of Orthopaedics of New Jersey Medical School, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey.
 
After completing his undergraduate education at Cornell University he earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine.  He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Medical Center, an affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and then did a fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago.
 
Dr. Moucha enjoys caring for patients requiring primary and complex revision hip and knee replacement.   He has a particular interest in the treatment of prosthetic joint infections and periprosthetic fractures and in studying the role of minimally invasive joint replacement surgery and computer navigation. Serving on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon's Patient Safety Committee he is always looking for ways to improve patient outcomes and diminish complications.  He has published several papers and book chapters in his field.
