As BWW reported last week, Hollywood A-lister Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she is co-writing an original comedic screenplay with funny lady Amy Schumer. "We play sisters," Lawrence told the New York Times of the new project. "We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We've got about 100 pages right now."
In response to the news, Bette Midler, most recently seen on Broadway in I'LL EAT YOU LAST, turned to Twitter to throw her hat in the ring for the role of the comedy duos' mother in the upcoming project. Tweeted Midler:
Amy Schumer & Jennifer Lawrence are co-writing a screenplay about sisters. Hmm, who could play their mother? She'd have to be DIVINE!

What do you think of the casting idea?
Midler released her first studio album in eight years, 'It's the Girls,' featuring songs from female groups who have had the greatest influence on her throughout her career. Covering seven Decades of music beginning with the 1930's, the album will feature an array of girl groups including The Boswell Sisters, The Andrews Sisters and R&B LEGENDSTLC.
