getTV honors one of Hollywood's most acclaimed filmmakers, the legendary Frank Capra, with a special two-day birthday block airing on Tuesday, May 5 and Sunday, May 17. Capra would have turned 118 on Monday, May 18. The two-night event puts the spotlight on four of the three-time Oscar-winner's most classic films in a lineup featuring AMERICAN MADNESS, FORBIDDEN, IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT, and PLATINUM BLONDE.

The celebration kicks off on Tuesday, May 5, at 7 p.m. ET, with a pair of dramas from 1932. Oscar-winner Walter Huston stars as Thomas Dickson, a Depression Era banker caught in the midst of crisis when his bank is robbed following his refusal to merge with the rival New York Trust in AMERICAN MADNESS, with Pat O'Brien and Kay Johnson. And Barbara Stanwyck and married politician Adolphe Menjou attempt to keep their lovechild a secret, but nosy newspaper editor Ralph Bellamy complicates things in FORBIDDEN at 8:45 p.m. ET.

The party continues on Sunday, May 17, with Clark Gable as a roving reporter who sees his next big story in RUNAWAY bride Claudette Colbert in the 1934 Best Picture winner IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT at 7 p.m. ET. The film was the first feature to sweep the major Oscar categories, garnering Best Actor and Best Actress wins for Gable and Colbert, and earning Capra the first of his three Best Director Oscars. And Loretta Young saves a bored reporter from his dead-end marriage to wealthy heiress Jean Harlow in PLATINUM BLONDE at 9:30 p.m. ET.
