Will COMMUNITY be getting a new reincarnation? Fans are hoping so.

At a South by Southwest (SXSW) panel, COMMUNITY creator Dan Harmon addressed rumors that the TV show would be heading to the big screen.

"Yahoo seems down for just about anything," Harmon said in reference to the site which will release the sixth season of COMMUNITY on March 17. He then joked, "I don't know why they'd turn their nose up to a movie about a low-rated show. They seem to be very naive."

Stars Joel McHale, Alison Brie, and Gillian Jacobs shared stories from filming the show, and McHale added, "This is why I fight for the show. I know it's the best show on television."

Community is an American television sitcom created by Dan Harmon that premiered on NBC on September 17, 2009. The single-camera series follows an ensemble cast of students at a community college in the fictional town of Greendale, Colorado. It makes heavy use of meta-humor and pop culture references, often parodying film and television clichés and tropes.

Community has received acclaim from critics, being ranked in several critics' lists of the best television series in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and has gained a cult following. Following cancelation by NBC in May 2014 after five seasons, Community was renewed for a sixth, 13-episode season by Yahoo! Screen, to premiere on March 17, 2015.
