According to Cinemablend.com, writer, director and actor Woody Allen is set to star in John Turturro's upcoming film FADING GIGOLO. Allen will join previously announced cast members Turturro, Sharon Stone and Sofia Vergara.

The film marks the end of a long period since Allen has acted in a movie. His last appearance on the big screen was in 2006's 'Scoop'. He will soon star in his next directorial project 'Nero Fiddled'.

FADING GIGOLO is based on a script by Turturro. The story follows "two men who are growing old and become gigolos to make some cash." Things take a turn for the worst when members of the Hasidic Jewish community where the two schemers live begin to suspect them and Turturro falls for a Jewish widow.

Stone will portray a dermatologist who uses Tuturro's services while Vergara will play a married woman who hopes to have a "threesome" with Stone and Turturro. The film will be directed by Turturro marking his fifth time behind the camera. His other directorial projects include 2010's Passione and the 2005 musical comedy 'Romance and Cigarettes'.

Shooting is set to start in New York next month.
