SAG-AFTRA National President Ken Howard will receive The Los Angeles Police Protective League's Eagle and Badge Foundation 'In the Line of Duty' Award at their 12th annual gala on Nov. 16.

Presented to leaders who generously give back to the community, the award recognizes honorees and their legacy of helping those in need. Howard is being recognized for his decades as a positive role model and his continued devotion to the community through the Screen Actors Guild Foundation, The Actors Fund, The Kidney Foundation and the Onyx and Breezy Foundation for the Welfare of Animals.

In addition to his community contributions, the Eagle and Badge Foundation chose to honor Howard for his leadership and professionalism as the president of SAG-AFTRA and the former Screen Actors Guild, and his demonstrated teamwork throughout the merger of SAG and AFTRA which now benefits over 165,000 members across the country.

Additional honorees include Attorney General Kamala D. Harris, LA City Councilman Joe Buscaino and philanthropist Shlomo Rechnitz. The event will be hosted by Mary Hart (Entertainment Tonight).

Said Howard, "I am delighted that the Eagle and Badge Foundation has chosen to recognize me for work that is so near to my heart. Service that benefits the community and those in need is an act that betters us all. I thank the Foundation, congratulate my fellow honorees and look forward to celebrating with them tomorrow."

The Eagle and Badge Foundation provides support to Los Angeles police officers and their families in times of critical need and children in the community they serve. More information about the Eagle and Badge Foundation can be found here.
