Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have bumped Kenneth Branagh's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, originally set for a Dec. 25 release, to Jan. 17, 2014, according to Deadline.

The spy thriller sees Chris Pine take the legendary character back to his early years, following him from the Marines to his recruitment into the CIA by Kevin Costner's Langley analyst. Branagh also stars as villainous Russian oligarch Viktor Cherevin, while Keira Knightley features in the supporting cast as Ryan's wife Cathy.

The report also notes that with the move, Paramount may be bent on bumping up Martin Scorsese's THE WOLF OF WALL STREET to a Christmas date, in order to make the cut-off for Oscars season.
