Variety writes that Universal has set the premiere date for MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING 2 -- sequel to 2002's hit romantic comedy -- for March 25, 2016, the same date as Warner Bros. highly anticipated BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE.

NANNY McPHEE helmer Kirk Jones will direct, with Nia Vardalos reprising her role and penning the script. The movie will follow "the revelation of a family secret and an even bigger wedding brings the Portokalos family together again."

Rita Wilson and her husband Tom Hanks will once again produce the project along with Gary Goetzman. Executive producers are Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer, Steven Shareshian and Vardalos.

The original film, which also featured John Corbett and Andrea Martin, earned a whopping $368 million in worldwide grosses. Vardalos' script received an Oscar nomination.
