Lionsgate has just announced that they have secured feature film rights to Kate Atkinson's best-selling novel, LIFE AFTER LIFE. Semi Chellas and Esta Spalding will adapt the book into a screenplay with Temple Hill Entertainment producing. There, Creative Executive Jaclyn Huntling championed the pitch for the novel.

"What would you do differently if you could live your life over again?" the story asks. When Ursula Todd discovers she has the extraordinary ability to start her life from scratch, she finds that even the smallest of choices can have the biggest of impacts. Set against the backdrop of the Second World War, Atkinson explores the challenges and triumphs of one woman's many lives as she learns to love, to lose, and ultimately to live a life free from regret.

Chellas' previous writing credits include Lionsgate's Emmy and Golden Globe winning TV show"Mad Men." Spalding's recent writing credits include TV show "The Bridge."

Erik Feig, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group's President of Production, Gillian Bohrer, Lionsgate's EVP of Production, and James Myers, Creative Executive at Lionsgate, will oversee the project for the studio.
