"Far From Home is a character-driven story that shows the impact a positive community can have on the life of another," said Philip Hessler, Producer of Far From Home. "Our goal with the film was simple: inspire. No matter where you come from or what you've been through, there is always a chance to live out your dreams. Brolin's story is proof of this."

The two-year cinematic project traces Brolin's life back in Kampala, Uganda as a child to his transition in the U.S. at age 11 to be with his mother and discovering a PASSION for the sport of snowboarding. Woven into the film's fabric is Brolin's struggle to find direction and adoption in his new country, and snowboarding is his outlet. A talented snowboarder and student, Brolin is hoping to become the first Ugandan to compete in snowboard slopestyle at the 2018 Winter Olympics, all while studying as a pre-med student at Westminster College in Utah.

Brolin's road to success has not been an easy one. It's his perseverance that inspired the making of Far From Home, and it's his story that viewers will find captivating.

"To me, this film is all about overcoming adversity, persevering through tough times, finding community, and never backing down from chasing your dreams," said Brolin. "No matter how dire a situation might be and how alone one may feel there is always a way out. I hope the film can inspire others in difficult situations and help them through similar hardships that's what ultimately made me want to share my story."

Far From Home is directed by Galen Knowles and produced by Phillip Hessler and Adam Schellenberg.
