Earlier today, Elizabeth Olsen confirmed that she has been cast in Joss Whedon's upcoming sequel AGE OF ULTRON. Talking to Ain't It Cool News, she describes the process that she's just begun of reading the comic books, and learning about the character of the Scarlet Witch.

She tells them that "I never read these comics before, not Scarlet Witch. She's crazy. She has more things wrong with her than any character I've ever played. She can tell you where an object has been, she can tell you what your future is, she can connect with the dead and people from the past, the future, other universes, and she's the only person in this universe who's capable of doing that. She's unbelieveable; it's so cool. I grew up loving STAR WARS and LORD OF THE RINGS, and anything that has another type of world or universe aspect to it is so fun. "

The character first appeared in X-Men #4 (March 1964) and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. She is the daughter of Magneto, the twin sister of Quicksilver, and the paternal half-sister of Polaris.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will hit theaters on May 1, 2015. The film is set to be scripted and directed by Joss Whedonand to feature an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans,Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson reprising their roles from the first film, withElizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and James Spader joining the cast.
