Elevation Pictures, a Canadian distribution company that just celebrated their first anniversary, is proud to announce the acquisitions of While We're Young, directed by NOAH Baumbach, starring Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried, which will be released in the U.S. by A24 films; and Big Game, the genre action thriller directed by Jalmari Helander, starring Samuel L. Jackson, to be released in the U.S. by RED/Relativity, both films received great responses at TIFF.

The company is also thrilled that its film The Imitation Game took top audience prize, the 2014 TIFF Grolsch People's Choice Award. The film is based on the black-listed script written by Graham Moore, directed by Morten Tyldum, and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Kiera Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong and Allen Leech. The film, which will be released stateside by The Weinstein Company, is the first picture under Elevation's output deal with its finance partner Teddy Schwarzman of Black Bear Pictures, who produced the film alongside Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky.

"We are thrilled that the film savvy audiences at TIFF loved The Imitation Game and awarded it the 2014 Grolsch People's Choice Award," said Laurie May, co-president of Elevation, "the film is truly incredible and we cannot wait for Canadian audiences to see The Imitation Game when it is released in December."

Elevation's other TIFF films were also well received, including Nightcrawler directed by Dan Gilroy, starring Jake Gyllenhaal in a buzz worthy performance, to be released in the U.S. by Open Road Films; and '71 directed by Yann Demange starring Jack O'Connell in a stunning performance, being released in the U.S. by Roadside Attractions.

"For our first festival in our home town, we couldn't have asked for a better year," said co-president NOAH Segal. "We are very excited about our acquisitions and the reception to all of our titles. We're looking forward to continuing to deliver strong films to Canadian audiences."

Since its launch, Elevation Pictures has been building a robust film slate with its first theatrical releases including Oculus, which was released wide in the U.S. by Relativity Media and Locke, starring Tom Hardy, released in the U.S. by A24.
