When the topic of Senior Living comes up it's not always followed with the most positive of thoughts. But then again not many have been asking the right questions these days. A new short film by WESTLiving, a senior living provider, documents heartfelt personal stories from resident's perspectives that sheds a new light on senior living https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y77B8bR-QXY.

Senior living is really about a true sense of belonging for seniors and their families. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels celebrated, welcomed and acknowledged for who they are. The film opens with a senior who is asked a pivotal question, "When doing things that you love, do you think age really matters?" The answer is both thought provoking and inspirational. "Age doesn't matter, its growth, but only in a different way" says Ruthie, who is an accomplished artist in a senior living community in Thousand Oaks, California. We learn some philosophical nuggets of wisdom from Neil, who points to us and declares, "If anyone asks you what time it is, you tell them the time is now!" Just one bit of wisdom referred to as "Neil's Nuggets". The staff is constantly rewarded with insight from residents who share a lifetime of wisdom and experience.

John Rimbach, President of WESTliving, is on a mission to address any misconceptions about senior living and enlighten the public with a more optimistic and accurate portrayal of the senior living industry. The "BE Inspired- The Time Is Now!" film helps toss away negative notions about aging. Instead it empowers all of us to live in the moment, to hold onto passions throughout life and love whole heatedly through time.

"This film is really about celebrating the freedom and empowerment that senior living offers." Rimbach continues, "It's a continued celebration and enjoyment of life." The film is filled with simple lessons and nuggets of wisdom that empowers its viewers. It shows residents who are actively pursuing their lifelong passions; growing, learning and developing deep relationships in their senior living homes.

The film disproves negative aging stereotypes and sheds light on the beneficial aspects resident experience every day in a senior living community. "This is a greater than WESTliving," states COO Patrick Collins. "It's about putting a realistic, positive message about successful, positive aging." WESTliving is not in the "care" industry, but rather, the "caring" industry and that's what this film shows as it highlights the lives of seniors and those who care for them in a colorful, fun and creative way. The "BE Inspired- The Time Is Now!" film is intended to be shared, to celebrate the joy that comes with knowing and learning from distinctive seniors who shatter ageism stereotypes and continue to thrive.
