Adam Sandler in Talks to Star in Indie Drama THE COBBLER

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Sandler is currently in discussions to star in Tom McCarthy's upcoming indie drama THE COBBLER. McCarthy, who also penned the script, has helmed such past indie projects as The Station Agent and The Visitor.

Sources reveal that the story will be a modern-day telling of a "shoe man who has the ability to metaphysically step into the lives of the people whose shoes he repairs."

Sandler will soon begin filming on Jason Reitman' Men Women & Children. His most recent films include Grown Ups 2 and That's My Boy.

After becoming a Saturday Night Live cast member, Sandler went on to star in many Hollywood feature films that combined have grossed over $2 billion at the box office. He is best known for his comedic roles, such as in the filmsBilly Madison (1995), Happy Gilmore (1996), The Waterboy (1998), Big Daddy (1999), and Mr. Deeds (2002),
